Tom comes from a military background having served for 22
years in the Royal Air Force in the field of Telecommunications
Operations. It was during this period that he embarked upon
a career within Training and Development that has subsequently
spanned some 15 years. He was instrumental in the introduction
of NVQ’s within the Telecommunications environment,
cross-mapping the needs of the organisation with the qualification
criteria of the awarding body which subsequently resulted
in the awarding of NVQ level 3 to Telecommunications personnel.
On leaving the RAF in 2000, Tom gained a senior training management
position with Lucent Technologies, specialising in Mobile
Communications technology, with over-riding responsibility
for all technical training and development activities on a
global basis.
Since 2002, Tom has been capitalising on his accrued training
and development skills and has enjoyed considerable success
due to his results driven 'can do' approach to providing practical
solutions. He has been particularly active within the Public
and Corporate sectors, where he has a proven record in the
implementation of cultural change initiatives and the provision
of soft skills and management development workshops. More
recently he has been putting his systems expertise to good
use by supporting national roll-outs of new IT systems for
a leading high street bank and pharmacy chain, providing staff
training and on-site operational support.
Tom has NVQ Level 4 in Human Resource Development and Learning
Development, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Management, NEBS
Management Certificate, a CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice
and is a D32/D33 NVQ Vocational Assessor..
